Contact + FAQ

Welcome! I’m Laura.

If you would like to contact me, please email me at laura {at} lolalina.com, with questions, ideas, or just to say hello. You can learn more about the site (and me) right here, and find a sampler of some of my favorite Houzz columns here. I absolutely adore receiving snail mail, but do not wish to publicly advertise my address — if you wish to send me something, please email me at laura {at} lolalina.com and introduce yourself, and I would be happy to share it with you. You can also find me on Twitter, Instagram, Bloglovin, Facebook or Pinterest to keep updated and connect beyond the blog. For advertising inquiries, email me for more information.

Read on for a few of my most frequently asked questions, answered. Thank you so much in advance for taking the time to contact me!

FAQ

Do you accept guest posts?

No, not at this time.

Can I advertise on Lolalina?

I am happy to consider banner ads either positioned at the end of a post, or in the sidebar, for business that resonate with Lolalina readers (e.g., home decor, art, crafts, blogs and blogging, and e-courses) but I am no longer accepting text link advertisements. Please email me at laura {at} lolalina.com to discuss rates and details.

How did you become a Houzz contributor?

One of the editors at Houzz had been reading Lolalina, and contacted me to begin writing a monthly column for their site. It went well, and I was soon invited to contribute more, and since 2013 I have been writing for Houzz nearly full-time. It just goes to show…you never know who is reading!

Can you blog about my product/art/business?

Short answer: Probably not. I’ll be honest, when I get email pitches about products I usually delete them without even looking. Sound awful? I feel a little awful for doing it, but the fact is, I rarely blog about products — and I simply don’t have time to answer every single email I receive. I do not typically blog about jewelry, fashion, weddings, or cleaning products, so I beg you do not email me with your pitch for these items!

Long answer: I am always on the lookout for great new artists, handmade goods, and independent shops, and do feature these on my blog as well as on Houzz and other sites I contribute to from time to time. If you are convinced that your artwork/handmade stuff/shop is something I would love, email me at laura {at} lolalina.com with a brief intro to your work with one photo and a link to your website — make it clear in the subject line of your email that you are a real person (i.e., not a mass-marketing company) promoting your own work, and I am much more likely to open it.

Can I share your photos on my own blog?

Yes, please do! I just ask that you credit them with my name (Laura Gaskill) or blog (Lolalina) and a link to this site (www.lolalina.com). And please be aware that not all photos I share here are my own — if I have found the photos elsewhere, there will be a credit + link at the bottom of the post.
