Happy Weekend!

in Sweet Obsessions

That’s it for this week of blogging, folks! I love coming to meet up here in blogland, because there is always something inspiring to feast my eyes on – and as long as I follow my own rule of only spending my online time reading blogs that truly make me feel good, I always walk away feeling refreshed and inspired. What about you? What has been inspiring you lately, online or otherwise? Have any hot plans this weekend? Do tell so I can listen and drool, as I will be spending my days cozied up at home with my sweeties, both of whom are now feeling a little under the weather.

I thought I would leave you with some insanely cute French cats, found via Modish. You will not be able to resist their charms…

And what is this one waiting for so patiently at the table?

Hm, perhaps one of these delicious muffins with cream cheese frosting made by Tiina of Sparkling Ink?

Have a swell weekend!

p.s.: I am taking a break from doing Sweet Obsessions Friday for a while. Instead, I will be leaving Fridays more flexible to check in with you, share something cute/funny/interesting, or perhaps a peek inside a corner of my home. Just thought it was time to change things up!

Happy weekend, friends! I am still (barely) getting the hang of this mothering thing, so please excuse the light posts this week. How are you doing? Are you taking time out to enjoy the season? The heat wave has finally broken here, so I am really looking forward to getting out of the house this weekend! As usual, there is so much goodness around the web that I had no trouble rounding up seven sweet things to share with you this afternoon…

1. A porcelain ice cream cone that can contain your treasures :) From KG + AB.

2. Just…WOW, right? Creative tree branches via Lady Ann de Borja.

3. I would love to crawl into the bed in this beach house and take a deliciously long nap.

4. Because there is no such thing as too much cute Japanese masking tape; from Nothing Elegant.

5. Newspaper as wall treatment? Why not! Via Apartment Therapy.

6. I want to make one of these charming little seat cushions using the DIY sewing kit from Alicia Paulson.

7. Adorable berry basket favors and feed sack cocktail napkins from A Field Journal, perfect for a midsummer party.

I hope each of you has a splendid weekend and be sure to take a little time-out just for you, to do something that makes you feel good or pursue a dream that is close to your heart. Happy Friday!!!

It’s the weekend! Hooray!! I am super excited because my sweetie just surprised me by coming home early, and we are planning on taking a nice drive down to the beach tomorrow :) Before I go to enjoy the rest of the afternoon, I have seven sweet finds to share with you – are you ready?

1. I am a huge fan of everything by inaluxe! Such sweet prints.

2. Jasna Janekovic’s apartment is full of inspiration, like this little collection and this cozy spot on the balcony.

3. I recently stumbled onto the blog of Brooklyn-based catering duo The Jewels of New York, and I’ve been drooling over their recipes (like the pickled ramps and breakfast tart pictured above) all morning – yum!

4. I adore this idea for attractively displaying your longboards; from Chez Larsson.

5. Aren’t these mouse pads from Shim + Sons handsome?

6. I love this idea for displaying a treasured family photograph; from decor8.

7. And finally, a charming necklace containing a miniature collection of butterflies; from Woodland Belle.

That’s all for this week, friends! Have a lovely weekend!!

Well hello there, friends of Lolalina. I’m Katie Stephenson of the Art Wall blog and website, filling in for Laura while she’s with bebe’. I decided to pitch in and try my hand at a Sweet Obsessions Friday post for you this week. It probably won’t be quite as pretty as Laura’s, but it will be pretty, just the same–I promise. So, without further ado, here’s my top 7:

1) I’ve heard about this 14-day chip free nail polish here and there lately. I think it’s time I invest in some, at $28.00/bottle plus shipping, it’s a bit of an investment.

2) I think Chicago-based Kara Mann is my favorite interior designer. This sunroom from her portfolio is my favorite.

3) My biggest problem with photography is white-balance. This lens could (and should) solve all my problems.

4) I think this is the prettiest map I have ever seen. I’d love to plan a nursery around this piece alone.

5) I’ve been searching everywhere for some birds to hang in my next art wall. I think these black ones from Jayson Home and Garden would look splendid alongside black framed pieces on a light colored wall.

6) I’m not really the scrap-booking type. It’s too much work and I like to do things right or not at all. This Once-A-Year-Book from Laikonik would take the pressure off. Just create one page per year for your child’s first 18 years.

7) These little cabins are made by hand at a local junior college near my home in Madison, Wisconsin. They could use a touch of customizing, but at $40-60K each, I’d say they’re worth the extra effort. Now all I need is a lake lot!
So, there you have it, 7 wishes: some big, some little. My last wish is for Laura and her husband to enjoy every second with the new baby. They are the greatest gift of all.

Happy Friday!! It is a really lovely day here – a bit cooler and less humid than it’s been, and I am planning on taking a little walk on the nature trail near my home. What are you up to? Do you have anything fun planned for the weekend? I hope you are able to take some time to savor the summer. I am excited to share my seven finds today because I am so in love with each and every one – I hope you like them too!

1. I feel like these platters from May Luk Ceramics were made with me in mind – the handmade shapes, soft colors, and cute kitties and foxes have me all a-swooning! And do you see those cupcakes? Those are my favorite, hands-down: red velvet with cream cheese frosting. Mm. I know the cupcakes are not for sale but hey, I’m pregnant – what do you expect?

2. I think these lovely, soft mail envelopes from Tuuni would be such a sweet place to store postcards from friends, love notes, or even to stash your bills.

3. Are you familiar with Clare Owen Illustration? I’ve been drooling over her work on Flickr, and now I see that her Etsy shop has been recently updated – hooray!

4. If you are the crafty type and you haven’t seen these yet, you must check out Colette Patterns. They create some of the cutest original patterns I’ve seen – fresh and modern, but with a vintage touch that adds just the right amount of charm.

5. Let’s just say I would be in heaven in the bedroom of this apartment. Each little thing speaks to me, from the Moroccan rug and slippers, hefty mirror, and amazing door to the romantic, bohemian touches like the dress hung artfully against the wall, the netting above the bed, and the vintage dress form. Found via desire to inspire.

6. Did you catch this DIY project on design*sponge? The clock looks phenomenal, like something one might purchase in Anthropologie, no? And I appreciate this project all the more because it was dreamed up by Kate Pruitt, who happens to live in Oakland, CA, the town where I was born.

7. And finally, how awesome is this crochet tent created by artist Timothy J. Karpinsky? I could crawl in there and take a nap right now! ;) Found via decor8.

So that brings us to the end of another week here, friends! Thank you so much for coming by, each of your comments and emails touch me and make me feel so grateful to be a part of such a warm and creative community that stretches out across the entire globe :) It’s possible of course that I’ll go into labor at any time, but if not I will see you back here on Monday!!
