After our trip to California, this little guy seems more mature and talkative than ever. And oh so definitely a two year old. Sigh. We love you so much, Bixby James, we wouldn’t want it any other way. xoxo Mama & Daddy

Happy Friday, my friends! I’m rolling two-into-one with Bixby’s monthly photo and Halloween costume. This year I wanted to keep things really easy, costume-wise, so we tried to think of a fun costume that would mostly be made from regular clothes he can wear again…and so may I present the Caboose Engineer! Yes, he specifically said he wants to be the Caboose engineer, not “just” a train engineer, so there you go. A simple costume like this was also great for his age because he was very comfortable in it – he wore it all day to school, which I can’t see happening with a more elaborate costume. But maybe next year…

I can’t believe it has only been one month (even if I am a few days late, ahem) since the last time I took this photo because so much has happened since then. For one (very important) thing, Bix started nursery school! He loves it so much, not a single tear has been shed…except when it’s time to come back home! I am so proud (and a little heartbroken) to see him striding off so confidently, making friends and working so well at his play. Our dear sweet Bixby James, we love you so! xoxo Mama & Daddy

It’s month two of Bixby’s new monthly photo project, and I can’t believe how much he has grown in these past weeks. I think taking the long road trip to North Carolina and the time spent with his cousins and relatives somehow made him seem more mature. Also…I can hardly believe this boy will be starting nursery school in only a few weeks! Bix is such a good boy, so talkative and social, with a big personality.

Hi friends! Remember when I told you I was thinking of continuing Bixby’s monthly photo project? After two years of monthly photos in the white chair holding his lambie, I kinda got used to the routine…yet I knew I would need to change things up now that he is a big two year old. So after much examining of the photos on this pinboard, I decided to keep it simple and do a monthly photo on the front steps of our house, overlayed with a bit of text. Here is month one:
Ta-da! I can’t tell you how ridiculously hard it was to get even one usable shot…after attempts on three different days, gah! Hopefully by next month Bix and I will both have the swing of it. ;) Also, a little p.s., to those of you who visited the site over the weekend, I’m sorry if things looked a little wonky. I was fiddling with the design a bit, and I may be continuing to add a few tweaks here and there throughout the month, since I did my redesign so quickly! Thanks for your patience. xo Laura
