Hello, my lovelies! I’ve enjoyed a relaxing long weekend that included a perfect end-of-season day at the beach and a birthday celebration for my dear sis in-law – and then also my hubby’s birthday, so we’ve been having plenty of cake! :) Sorry I’ve been a little MIA this week so far, I suppose I’m still on “summer time” a little…not such a bad thing, right? But here I am now, and I have a really fun space to share with you today. I spied it on Houzz, and it immediately grabbed my attention because of the creative energy and light, bright mood. Located in Eemnes, Netherlands, it is the home of Sonia van der Zwaan and her family. Sonia runs Gosto Design & Lifestyle, a gorgeous online shop stocked with design finds matching her Northern European sensibility. I hope you enjoy the tour as much as I did!
First off, how amazing is that dining room? Such a simple setting – the wide plank wood floors and white walls, basic table and shell chairs – but the artwork, lacy tablecloth, and little accessories and flowers really bring it to life. I wish I were having my morning coffee there right now!
In the living room, again, you will see a very comfortable and neutral foundation to the room, which is my favorite way to decorate; allowing you to add personality with accessories and art, and change up smaller items from time to time. I’ve had my eye on the artwork shown above (from Studio Violet) for a long time now – I really want a print of my own!
I adore the gray bedroom (and I want that lamp!!), but I am really smitten with the attic space which serves as a combination guest room/office. The trees wallpaper creates such a wonderful mood, don’t you agree? I’ve seen this pattern and loved it in other spaces, but something about it feels especially right in a cozy little attic.
Sonia’s creative touch and good eye are evident in all of the spaces in her home, from her children’s room to the kitchen with its lovely open shelving and pretty objects, to the vintage lockers and sparkly pillow adorning the dining space. If you want to see more, you can read more about Sonia’s decorating process in this Houzz tour, and visit the Gosto Design & Lifestyle shop online.
Enjoy the rest of your day, my friends! xo Laura
