Let me begin by saying, I grew up in Alameda, California, and none of my apartments were half as chic as Katie Armour’s (aka The Neo-Traditionalist). Of course, Katie recently relocated to New York, so this apartment is now her old apartment. I can’t wait to see what she does with the new one!
I love how the lavender walls (Lily Lavender from Benjamin Moore) give everything a soft glow, don’t you? It’s not the first color I would think to choose, but it works really well to pull the room together in a chic, feminine way – and the Moroccan rug + gingham fabric on curtains and folding screen are just genius together.
A view of Katie’s coffee table with its sharp edges and artfully displayed books and flowers makes me long, just a little bit, for the ease of decorating pre-Bixby. Ha!
Oh, and did you notice this detail? Look:
Artwork hung above the screen draws the eye up and feels a little Parisian (especially with a Wayne Payte print).
I’m a little bit in love with the wall color in the bedroom (it’s Fountain Spout from Benjamin Moore), and the black floral headboard and bed skirt, which was made from a set of Ralph Lauren sheets.
And oh my, can I please, pretty please, just transport this entire desk area into my home right now? The vintage chair (with the same gingham fabric as the curtains/screen, how cute is that?) and big ceramic lamps add oomph to a small area, and the art display is such a simple way to make a basic bulletin board look chic.
As I mentioned, Katie recently moved to New York; above you can see a collage of some of her recent Instagram shots – looking very Breakfast at Tiffany’s, no? If this has been killing you with chicness too, go visit Katie at The Neo-Traditionalist, or at Matchbook Magazine (which she co-founded with Jane Lilly Warren).

Thanks for sharing the bedroom wall colour name, I am totally taken by it and will be using it in my next decor project :)
