Mother’s Day Gift Guide, Take 2: Last-Minute DIY Picnic

in Gift Guides

Hi friends! I apologize for being MIA this week; I’m hoping to get back on a more regular schedule now. I promised I’d be back with one more gift guide for the Mamas in your life (see the first one here), and since Mother’s Day is tomorrow, this is a last-minute guide! I love the idea of DIY kits and packages for gift-giving, so I came up with this special picnic basket kit I think any Mom would love.

1. Ombre Crush Tote | 2. La Sardinia Camera | 3. Bottle Opener | 4. Vogel Tunic | 5. Mast Brothers Chocolate Bar | 6. Ash Wood Cutting Board | 7. Parisian Blue Napkins | 8. & 9. Weck Jars | 10. Bambu Dishes & Flatware | 11. Anthology Issue 7

Here is the basic formula: first, pick an awesome container (I love the idea of using a French market style basket) to contain all of the treasures. Next, pick up a few basic, reusable items that can contain + serve food, such as the Bambu plates and Weck jars I included here, and useful tools like a small cutting board and bottle opener. To make it special, tuck in something yummy (like a bottle of rosé wine and a bar of good chocolate), real cloth napkins, and a few fun surprises. Something to read is always welcome – if you have an Anthropologie store near you, they are stocking copies of Anthology, which is gorgeous, plus lots of fun books as well. I love the idea of throwing in a fun Lomography or Polaroid camera or a cute new top, to really take it to the next level.

Have fun this weekend, and I’ll see you back here on Monday! xo Laura

I love the gifts — especially the blue and white striped napkins and bamboo plates.
