I tend to gravitate toward interiors that are simple, but lately I’ve been craving a more pulled-together, layered look. I rounded up a few of my favorite examples, these are the rooms I can’t quit looking at lately. Enjoy!

Do you ever see a room and think, yes, that’s exactly what I want to do? This little hall really nails my style. I adore the ruffle-edged mirror and Nelson lamps, and with the black floral wallpaper and star light fixture it comes together perfectly. It’s fresh and modern, yet warm, relaxed, and personal. Love the green door and natural fiber rug, too.

Ah, and for total decorator bliss I love this living room spied in Thom Filicia’s portfolio. It’s more buttoned up than I prefer for my own home, but I would love to incorporate a few touches – nailhead trim, rich coral or apple green velvet, grasscloth wallpaper.

I spied this corner, from Thom Filicia again, and really fell for that round mirror tucked in among the bookcases – genius! There is something about a big, thick-framed round mirror that feels very chic. And the layers of texture in this room – burlap, fluffy sheepskin, nubby upholstery, textured walls – yum!

For a look that’s layered but still sleek, I loved this peek at photographer Jeremy Harwell’s studio on decor8. How can you not adore a pink sofa?

In the bath, I’ve been really drawn to dark walls – they make an especially striking backdrop for green plants and artwork. I think this space in Country Living really got it right with the natural woven baskets and hammam style towels, and who could resist that mermaid painting? So fun. What do you think – would you try dark walls?

Um, I love all of these spaces! Comfortable but beautiful and with really special attention to detail. I can totally see your home being like this one day!
Thanks Maggie! I actually thought of you as I was pulling this together! :) xo
If you have a lot of light, preferably natural, I think the black would be fabulous!
