Inspiring Flower Shop & Home

I’ve been having a challenging week, nonstop go-go-go, so I was so pleased to finally sit down with a cup of tea and pore over the latest issue of Covet Garden. Do you read it? It’s a delightful Canadian e-magazine featuring one home each month and those who reside in it. Simple and sweet. Nothing primped or fussed over too much, just real people who have put in the hard work and creativity to make a house a home.

This month features the home of Dani Elwell, Stefano Dal Bello and their daughter Jaiden, with photography by Jodi Pudge. Dani is a floral designer and Stefano is a furniture maker, so they live quite a creative life and it shows in every inch of their home and business. I love the rustic lived-in feeling of their shop, seen above, and in fact the couple lived in the same building as their shop for several years before finding their current home. Rustic wood shelving, collections of vintage glass vessels, and balls of twine are practical for the business at hand, but have their own quiet beauty, too.

Inside the house the couple has done a lovely job at mixing vintage finds in fresh, appealing ways. I love the tall glass-front cabinets, chalkboard wall, and branches brought inside. A lovely thing about Covet Garden is that they always pull together a few complementary features for each issue – for this one, you will also find a d.i.y. rose-infused bath tea, lemonade and rosewater cooler, and a gorgeous roundup of floral print goodies. Go to Covet Garden to read the entire issue, and enjoy! xo Laura
