Today I would like to share a few scenes from the brand new issue of Kinfolk Magazine. Kinfolk is an independent print magazine filled with gorgeous original features and photography, and that organic-bohemian aesthetic that I love – I feel like I should be reading it tucked into a tatty old armchair in a cabin in Big Sur!
If you are still looking for that perfect holiday gift for someone, may I suggest a subscription to Kinfolk? I so miss having really beautiful magazines to hold in my hands, to bring with me on car trips and flip through while I sip my tea at night. There are some I enjoy, of course, but I am always on the lookout for something fresh and new.
Issue One is still available online for free, so if you want a taste of what Kinfolk is all about you can read it right here. I am not sure if they are still planning on releasing Issue Two as a free digital magazine or not, you will have to check in with their blog for all of the updates.
Really though, I am craving a print copy to hold in my hot little hands. With so much of my time spent online, it is refreshing to lay my eyes on real paper and ink, to smell that fresh magazine smell and hear the fa-lip of each page. Do you know what I mean? There is a place in my heart for digital magazines, but when the day is over and I am relaxing at home I want something I can hold.
I love the thought and meaning behind Kinfolk – it is focused on the small gatherings of friends and family that punctuate our daily lives. From the description on their website, Issue 2 “explores the joy of spending time with friends and family during the winter months, through brisk morning walks, warm fires, seasonal meals, and revisiting nostalgic traditions.” Sounds lovely, yes?

I LOVE Kinfolk! I just ordered volume 2 yesterday and can’t wait to receive it. It almost feels much more like a book, don’t you think? The photography is gorgeous and I love the writing. Can’t wait to cozy up with the winter issue!
