I came across the Roost blog for the first time the other day and was completely gobsmacked. Blog author Caitlin also runs graphic design company Lark Creatif, works as a photo stylist, and dreams of one day living on a sustainable, working farm. On the Roost blog, Caitlin has mastered that particular kind of organic-modern-rustic aesthetic that gets me every time. Mostly, it is a food blog, focusing on gluten-free and low sugar/dairy recipes that actually look amazingly delicious. But in addition to cooking up luscious meals, this creative lady has a wonderfully inspiring new home. I am dying over the pale gray wall color in the living room, it’s so perfectly light and ethereal it would be like living inside a cloud!
I love the mix of new and old, rustic and refined – raw wood table, long flowing curtains, a wildly crafted shade on a charcoal gray lamp, a sunshine-yellow pillow and another with the words to “You Are My Sunshine” printed on its side. And the food? Oh, the food!
That faceted tea cup and leather armchair are calling my name! I also love the chunky candlesticks on the mantle and that incredibly cushy-looking sofa. Oh Caitlin, can I please come over? :)
And the kitchen…be still, my heart! Marble counters, gorgeous pendant lights, and gleamy subway tiles make the entire room glow with light, while the crafty-looking bar stools add textural interest.
There is that wall color and amazing lamp again! I am planning on contacting Caitlin to find out that wall color, and I will report back when I find out – it’s exactly the color I want to repaint my own living room…eventually ;)
Go check out Caitlin’s post on Roost for the full home tour – and stay awhile for the yummy recipes!
