Welcome back, and happy new week! I feel refreshed and renewed after three days off. Over the weekend, we celebrated both my hubby and sis-in-law’s birthdays (they are two days apart) with dinner by the water. It really felt like summer sitting outside in the warm air, sipping chardonnay with our oysters, but this morning it is raining here and I feel a change…fall is coming! With autumn approaching I am feeling the desire to settle in more at home, plan and make lists of things to do and try in the upcoming months. Here are three craft projects that have caught my eye lately:
1. Isn’t this big fat knit lampshade amazing? I do not have the skill to make this, but I love it! The project comes from Norwegian yarn company Pickles.
2. I have had this simple, fun project from Creature Comforts in my to-try file for a few months now, and I think its time may have finally arrived! I already have a small chalkboard just waiting to be embellished and transformed :)
3. I love that this DIY painting from Oh Happy Day! is so elegant looking for very little effort. I also love the reference to Le Petit Prince here, I read it back in high school French class and adored it.
What about you? Any craft or DIY projects on your list? Would you try any of the projects above? I want to know! xo Laura

love those clip boards and love those simple french words framed! Lovely ideas! Thank you! (p.s. even in California this morning it was feeling like fall. That warm, dryness that comes around in the beginning of fall- I’m ready to start those fall lists too)!
Le petit Prince.. :) i read it in my childhood and i loved it!
Love all of your sweet & cosy posts hun! That diy lampshade is FAN-tastic! It reminds me of another that takes far less skill ( cause I have NO skill in that area!) here: http://sweetpaul.typepad.com/my_weblog/2010/01/cr.html ( isn’t it fab?) Hope you are having a great week hun!

Oh MY! Beautiful…and actually EASY, too! Thanks so much for the link, Melis!! xoxo
I am smitten with the framed art–so simple, so sweet, and so elegant! I am definitely going to be doing something like this. Just need to come up with a neat phrase (preferably in another language since that makes it look so much more intriguing). :)
