Pinterest Finds: Chevrons & Stripes

I can’t seem to get enough of chevrons and stripes lately, what about you? Is there something in the water? There is even a little stripe mania going on around the interwebs :) My finds today come from Pinterest, so I will do my best to link both to the pinner and the original source – though sadly there is at least one I can’t track down. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this – there are even a few crafty projects to try if you are feeling all Martha. Are you ready? Goodie, let’s get started!

First up is this DIY chevron tray made from a baking sheet, can you believe it? Total genius if you ask me. From Martha, of course – find all of the instructions here. Pinned by Lana Katsaros.

Next, allow me to introduce you to one of my favorite bedrooms of all time, in the home of Lara Collins as featured on Design*Sponge, photography by Christian Collins. Striped bedspread, cute pillows, Shanna Murray illustrated decal (swoon!), and that wall color looks an awful lot like quahog, don’t you think? Pinned by Flo.

Chevron walls: why not? I think these look amazing, especially behind that rustic plank-and-pipe style shelving. This is from the gorgeous studio of Bash Please, found via Dandee. Pinned by M H.

Would you have the courage to do this to your stairs? I might not, to be honest – but I would adore staying in a vacation home or beach house with stairs like these, somewhere meant for having fun and being a bit more playful than usual. And I bet kids would LOVE this look. What do you think? Image found on Auburn & Ivory, these stairs amazingly come not from an actual home, but from a Kate Spade pop-up shop in London. Pinned by melisapita.

I love these painted floors – again, I might not want them with pattern like this throughout my home, but in a kitchen or mudroom? Yes, please! And I would think that if you live in a hot climate this would be the perfect alternative to rugs. Found via Walking Around {Where The Sidewalk Begins}, but sadly I cannot locate the original source (i.e., photographer/publication? Anyone have a clue?). Pinned by Lana Katsaros.

Feeling crafty? I love this idea from Martha Stewart, featured on Say Yes To Hoboken: simply paint a wooden doormat in a rainbow of hues. Instant cheer! I would love to try this, but use a tonal range of a single color instead for a more subtle look. Pinned by Libby Bates.

I love the chevron pattern on Holly’s new business cards, it’s such a nice touch to have a double-sided card, don’t you think? Especially if you work in the design field, it’s one of those little things that can set you apart. Pinned by…me :)

And last but certainly not least: a creative table setting and party decor featured on 100 Layer Cake with styling by The Collection Event Studio and photography by Edyta Szyszlo. I love it all, but that striped runner cut to look like a giant ribbon is what really caught my eye! Pinned by Lana Katsaros.

So tell me…which were your favorites? Are you into stripes and/or chevrons or do you think their time is over?

I don’t think stripes can ever be out of style. ;) I am completely smitten with the bedroom, I wish I could just transplant myself into the room right now. And the doormat is a super cute idea (leave it to Martha!)
