Yay! I am doing a little happy dance in my chair right now because it is so fun to find a new artist whose work you love :) More to add to my wish list, and eventually my walls! Today my art find is actually the husband and wife design team behind etsy shop Love Sugar Design, and I have chosen some of my favorite giclée prints from Jimmy and Nicole’s shop to share with you below. Since I have art on the brain, I would love to ask you a question: Where do your tastes run when it comes to purchasing art for your home? Do you scavenge for cool vintage paintings, save your pennies for new original pieces, or are you a print-addict like me? Prints are so fun to shop for and because they are generally so inexpensive (no more than picking up a few imported decorating mags ;) ) it is easy to justify building up quite a collection.

If I were a bit more organized I would stock up on cheap frames (like the RIBBA) and a few picture ledges so I could easily swap out prints seasonally, or on a whim. Extra prints waiting for their turn on the wall could go in a simple art portfolio. I think a few picture ledges would be great for me because I have a hard time committing to permanent spots for art, so many pieces sadly get left collecting dust in the back of my closet :( Anyone else have this problem? But back to Love Sugar Design, I would happily scoop up many of their prints (that little lady above is one of my favorites), in fact I would find it hard to choose just one!

I love the charming illustrations, and the colors with their muted, vintage feel. Jimmy and Nicole have put together such a thoughtful collection, and I love that they work together and raise a family together, sweet! They met in art school, and now live in Florida with their two little boys – who even inspired a special print. Do you have a favorite from the pieces above? I would love to hear what you think, and also if you have any art display tips, please share! xo Laura

If you have wanderlust like me, prepare to be made totally jealous inspired: I just found out that Danielle de Lange over at The Style Files has started a brand-new project called The Travel Files, and the content on the site so far is gorgeous. But then, I love Danielle’s eye, from the design and interiors she features on her blog to the carefully curated collection in her shop, Le Souk, so I knew I would not be disappointed! Let’s have a little global tour of some of the hotels and destinations that have me dreaming…

Perivolas on Santorini, Greece

Riad P’tit Habibi, Marrakech

Castles in the Sand, Morocco
These hotels in Greece and Morocco are stunning, no? Each seems like a perfect place for a real holiday, with nothing to do but swim and read and eat delicious fresh food! I love the whitewashed buildings with their smooth, adobe-like curves and colorful textiles.

Hotel Masseria Cimino, Italy

La Maison Pujol, France

Hotel Azucar, Mexico
In Danielle’s own words,
The Travel Files is about traveling, exploring, dreaming and enjoying life. We showcase beautiful destinations from all over the world. Small or large, urban or rural, budget or high end: it doesn’t matter, as long as a place has a certain charm, edge or uniqueness. The Travel Files is dedicated to search the globe for beautiful hotels, B&B’s, restaurants, shops and other places worth visiting.
Sounds delightful to me! I can’t wait to keep checking in on this new site to bookmark more places to visit. Lovely job, Danielle!

Good morning and hello to a fresh new week! The sun is shining here and it really feels like a summer morning – hooray! I would like to share a few images this morning that are inspiring me, all have an easy sort of style that I love and little hits of pink here and there. Enjoy!

Haus Maus

Haus Maus
These first two images come from Holly Becker’s porch in her new flat in Germany – I have been seriously drooling over each photo she takes of her new place, it is gorgeous. And of course I am a HUGE fan of Holly’s decorating style, and the color palette she has used here is one of my favorites: plenty of white, pale lilac and pinks and watery blue-greens, plus a little silver. Wouldn’t you love to hang out here?

Helt Enkelt
There is something about having a little pink in the room, even if it is just brought in through flowers as it is here (in the lovely home of Anna-Malin) that makes me happy. I also love the kitchen light fixture here, the slightly formal feeling of it seems perfect if you have an open plan space. BTW, I found Anna-Malin via her column Handmade Home on decor8, if you like her style you won’t want to miss that!

A Creative Mint
Leslie Shewring keeps the most creative inspiration journals, does she not? I love this one pictured above, red white blue and gold has never looked better! Seeing Leslie’s styling work makes me wish I had the patience/time/motivation to keep an inspiration journal myself! Psst, I guess this is just a decor8 lovefest today, because Leslie is another decor8 columnist & her brand-new Color Me Pretty column is up right now!
