Dreamy Interior Inspiration From Norway

Hello dear ones and welcome to a fresh new week! I am really getting into the spirit of spring, how about you? To me, springtime is all about stripping away old layers of dirt and clutter to reveal the beauty that is already there. I love flinging open the windows to let the house “breathe” after a long cold winter, folding up and putting away the big coats and warm mittens, and weeding through our wardrobes, bookshelves, and piles, to lighten up our home. Over the weekend I picked up a bouquet of tulips for my dining table and a small hyacinth for my desk, which I popped into a little vintage pot that makes me smile. It’s the little touches like this that really make me feel good about my home, do you know what I mean?

One woman whose style is giving me exactly the shot of inspiration I am craving is Nina Hoist, whose home I have featured here. Nina authors the Stylizimo blog and created the Stylizimo online community that brings together people passionate about home decorating – sounds like a fab idea, right? I’m not sure how I’ve missed this until now, but I will certainly be making up for lost time and spending some time clicking around her site and soaking in the inspiration.

Her workspace is everything I wish for my own space: a simple yet beautiful desk, Eiffel chair, sleek task lamp, beautifully organized supplies at hand, and a gorgeous inspiration board to collect favorite tear sheets, photos, and bits of fabric and lace. What an energizing place to work!

I adore her vintage crate filled with home decorating magazines – drool! I wish I could come over to Nina’s home this afternoon and curl up on her sofa sipping hot tea and reading decor mags together, in fact wouldn’t it be lovely if we could all come ? Ha! :)

She has a way with white that seems to come so naturally to Scandinavians, at least it seems that way!

Recently Nina added a few accents in blue for springtime, shown above. I love that about a white or neutral space – it is so easy to change the color palette with just a few small touches.

What do you think? Are you feeling inspired to clean, declutter, and decorate, too? You can see more of Nina’s delightful home on her blog, and be sure to check out Stylizimo for more inspiration as well – I am going to join right now! Happy Monday, sweet friends, have a lovely day! xo Laura

Twiggs, your puppy sounds an awful lot like my baby…everything moved to high shelves? Check! Other things a bit chewed on around the edges? Check! LOL.

I really needed to read this post in this moment! I haven’t been in love with our living space lately and I think you hit the nail right on the head–spring cleaning! Nothing like cleaning out closets, drawers, desks, etc. to make a home feel lighter and more relaxing. :)

Thanks for stopping in Lisa! I just finished cleaning all of my floors and de-cat-furring my sofa, and I feel like it’s a whole new house now, ha ha! :) xo Laura
