Still Crushing On Jenna Lyons + Melanie Acevedo

You have almost certainly seen Melanie Acevedo’s incredibly gorgeous photographs of Jenna Lyons’ equally stunning home before, but I thought it was worth a revisit because it is feeling just as fresh and inspiring to me now as ever. I am noticing more and more dark (black/inky blue/slate/bitter chocolate) walls popping up in interiors lately, and I am really liking it – what about you?

I mean, I love white. You know I love white. And I love the colors I chose for my own home, I really do – but lately I have been thinking how nice it would be to have at least one really rich, darkly painted room. Of course I have no intention of picking up a paintbrush anytime soon, so this is all just theoretical!

Of course, those dark cabinets look pretty amazing, too! And the hardware on those cabinets is just perfect – isn’t it amazing the difference a little thing like that can make? Oh how I wish I could just reach into this photograph and pull out the light fixtures and that amazing stove and plunk them right in my own kitchen! :) Okay, and can we talk about Jenna’s bathroom?

I mean, hello, gorgeous! There is just something so luxurious about really dark walls, especially in a small space like this, surrounded by details like those incredible herringbone floors, dark tub, and gleaming towel rack.

As I mentioned on Friday, I would like to share a little holiday home tour of my own place with you this week – and after several frustrating photo sessions that resulted in blurry and/or dark pictures, I have an even deeper respect for photographers like Melanie Acevedo who can get interiors so right. There is so much more visual inspiration in Melanie’s portfolio, if you are seeking further inspiration I would head right over there if I were you!
