Happy weekend!! Are you excited to begin your days off? What will you be up to? I am feeling inspired to play around at home, decorating-wise; something I haven’t been able to make much any time for since Bixby was born. On my list? First of all, clearing off my desk. Which brings me to this image staring at me above, which is pretty much my ideal desk/workspace scenario: BIG raw wood desk, super-cushy and plush armchair, fancy gold coffee cup, and plenty of room behind the desk area for a pin board, magazine storage, filing, etc. Sigh. I have been asked to photograph my workspace for a blog feature (I’ll let you know when it happens), and I SO wish I could afford to make the changes I want to make. But alas, this is reality and I will be working with what I’ve got!
Also on my list this weekend: Creating an inspiration board, hanging artwork that has been sitting around for far too long, and putting up a few strings of fairy lights. I keep coming back to this art wall featured on Design*Sponge – the arrangement is inspiring me to get to work on my own art wall! Plus I love the pet portraits and I am dying to have one done of Ziggy :)
And talk about inspiration! I have been drooling all over this dining room, featured on Melissa Loves. It’s funny, because I wouldn’t pick out super modern chairs like these on my own – but put them in this very traditional dining room with the crystal chandelier, the bust, farmhouse table, and dark portrait and I get shivers it’s so good! This really makes me want to add something to my own dining room. Something…dramatic. Hm. I’ll have to work on that :)
So…what’s on your weekend list? Do you have to-do’s a mile long or will you be able to play? What do you really want to do this weekend?

Oh my goodness, it’s now my mission in life to find a royal blue velvet wing chair like the one in the photo! My mom used to have one exactly like that in a golden flax color which, of course brings back lots of good memories, lol…
Loving your blog by the way, one of my daily check-ins :)
Cheyenne – That is so sweet! Thank you! And your mom’s chair sounds beautiful…makes me think, one could potentially find a nice vintage wing chair and have it reupholstered, hm… Enjoy your weekend!! xo Laura
Oh dear, that illustration with the caption “GRAVY” has totally captured my imagination. How cute and fun! Gives me some ideas….
As for this weekend? Midterms next week (on Thanksgiving week, what on earth?!), so tonight I plan to put in at least 12 hours worth of chemistry studying. Punctuated by plenty of tea and cookies, of course!

I actually meant “this weekend,” not “tonight.” I do actually plan to sleep tonight! :D

I love the blue velvet chair. It looks so soft and comfy! And the plant on the desk really makes it perfect. Have a wonderful weekend Laura!
Anne – Yes! I love the plant, too :) We don’t have many houseplants right now, and I would LOVE something fragrant like rosemary or a tiny lemon tree near my workspace. xoxo Laura
hello laura!!! how are you? :) thank you for going over my {place} and leaving such a sweet comment! i appreciated it do much! :) second, this is a real coincidence as i done exactly that around the house today… this is, cleaning, organizing, arranging more space, i live in the tiniest apartment, and sometimes it is hard to keep it organized and things go crazy easily! so now i am comfortably sitting on my organized living room, drinking some tea and catching up with online life :) and so happy! ok i could be happier with a working space like that first one! hugs, twiggs

Twiggs – It was my pleasure, to be sure! Sounds like you had a lovely day, just what I wanted to do – I ended up working on a project for my design class instead (which was good, because I had been procrastinating!) – but tomorrow will be all about decorating and tea! :D xo Laura
