Fresh + Pretty Spaces for Summer

in Design & Decor

It’s midsummer and I am craving fresh, light-filled rooms with a bit of a vintage feminine flair. Rooms that call out for late morning coffee with fancy pastries and homemade jam and long afternoons with good books or puttering about doing little craft projects…is this sounding good to you?

A living room with the perfect balance of vintage furniture + new details. I LOVE the painted pink chairs, artwork, and the modern lamp. Since my living/dining space is so white right now, I am looking for ways to introduce a little color and this is right up my alley! What do you think?

Place a colorful weatherproof mat, a potted flower, and a vintage pillow on your deck. Bonus points for strategically placed, color-coordinated flip-flops, lol!

Tired of your old stuff? Paint it all white + pretty pale blue! Then just add a few silver accents from the flea market and ta-da!

Use masking tape to display a few old photos above your mantle. Tip: if you don’t want to damage a precious photo with tape, make a color copy instead and save the original in an album.

Stage your entryway with a few of your favorite items to help set the mood when you walk in the door. Is this a bit silly? Yes, and it won’t last, either…but imagine how cute + summery it would be to walk in to a row of straw hats and colorful sarongs!

Pick up a few fun props for yourself, like these vintage china teacup bracelets or one of these adorable aprons (love the pom pom trim!).

No cash for fancy floral bouquets? This is the perfect time of year to cut flowers from your yard (or a friendly neighbor’s yard!) instead – and look around your kitchen for items you can re-purpose as vases such as mason jars, cream pitchers or even cans with pretty labels.

So what are your favorite small projects for the summer? I’d love to hear about what’s inspiring you right now!

It´s winter down here and my winter project is to paint spring blossoms. I´m also still looking for a colourful blanket or quilt for my baby daughter.
I love the images you´ve published.
