Is it strange to be dreaming of a technicolor summer in California before winter has even officially begun? Well, strange or not, nothing is going to stop me from eating up all of Jen Zahigian’s retro fabulous photographs. Here, take a look…

See what I mean? Those colors! Those cars! Swoon! I would love a large print of this photo, crisply matted, to hang in my living room. Yum yum. Let’s look at some more, shall we?

I love the cool fonts and pastel colors of kitschy 1950′s-60′s Americana – there is something so cheerful and optimistic about it that makes me smile. And while I wouldn’t want to go overboard filling my home with vintage finds, I could definitely see spicing up my decor with a few of these fun, colorful prints. Couldn’t you?

I loved your roadside photography article. It reminded me of growing up in LA when there were so many wonderful businesses either shaped like something (VanDeKamp windmills, hot dog stands shaped like hot dogs, etc.) or businesses with giant statues or blow-ups in front or on top (barber symbol poles, etc). It made driving down the street an adventure.
