Dreaming…

in Mood Boards

Hello, friends! How are you doing? And before you take a breath to say “fine” consider reading this post (actually, it’s a vlog) by life coach Michelle Ward about how we can answer that question in a more honest way – I think it is such a breath of fresh air to really consider our answer to that question, even if you are only collecting your thoughts on your own or in your private journal.

As many of you know by now, I just purchased my first home and I will be starting design classes at RISD here in Providence in a few short weeks. And while my life is full to the brim with things to be happy about (and that I am very, very happy about!), it is also scary not knowing where the road will lead. Do you know what I mean? So my little wish for you (and me) today is to find a quiet moment all to yourself to rest and dream and take the time to really listen to yourself. What do you need? How are you really doing?

Also, I wanted to thank you for bearing with me during this transition – I appreciate each and every one of you, and I know that I have been away from my “regular” blogging schedule for a bit longer than I would like! I will be doing some planning for Autumn blog features this afternoon, and I will see you back here tomorrow morning with some lovely shops and inspiration that I can not wait to share with you!

You’re right, we should all take the time to think about ourself a moment, and consider how we are really doing, and what we need… That’s a beautiful thought, thanks for sharing it. I hate it that people always expect you to say “fine” when they ask you how you’re doing. In Italy they say: A true friend is a friend that asks you who you are and then truely listens to your response.

Thanks for the reminder to be honest with ourselves. I have a lot of changes and a crazy couple of weeks coming up. And while I’m stressed and feeling disorganized, it reminds me that I really love being busy and having projects to work on… and in fact has inspired me to do even more (well, maybe when things ease up a bit!). It’s inspiring to sit back and realize that I’m finally making the changes I’ve been thinking about for two and a half years!

I feel the same way! Stressed? Check. Disorganized? Check. And yet, I am in the midst of some of the most exciting changes at the same time! I am really trying to make an effort to put things into perspective.

Thanks so much for pimping me out, Laura! I didn’t even know this was here until I read it on my Google Reader. You made my night!

I love the images in this post, & the sentiment about being scared not knowing where the road will lead. I’ve been learning lately that the scary things are the ones worth doing, so I have to encourage you to not only embrace, but try to enjoy, the scary. Do you see how many doors are open? And how many different, fun, delicious ways there are to travel this unknown path?
