Happy Friday! I am getting ready to shut down the computer for another unplugged weekend – have you ever tried doing that? I think it’s a nice habit to get into, giving your overworked eyes and brain a bit of a rest from the online world and flicker of the computer screen. Instead, I am planning on enjoying some domestic pleasures this weekend. Have you picked up a copy of The Gentle Art of Domesticity by Jane Brocket? I highly recommend it. Jane’s book is crammed full of her own gorgeous photography and tons of inspiration for little weekend projects and jaunts, from art, films and chocolate, to books, knitting, baking and quilting. This weekend I want to fit in lots of reading and tea-drinking, eating-of-baked-goods, buying fresh flowers, browsing vintage shops, and generally puttering around. What are you up to?
Here are my inspirations from my weekly wanderings; enjoy and have a great weekend!!

1. Amy Butler’s new line of 100% organic bedding looks so fresh and sunny, don’t you think? I would absolutely love to spend my Saturday morning with a cup of tea in that bed!

2. A smooth little blue bird to perch on your windowsill

3. Feel like baking something? How do cherry brown butter bars sound? Mm, I thought so.

4. A perfectly cheerful, sunny little spot for having morning toast; from this apartment therapy home tour

5. Quite possibly the most creative vintage-inspired wedding I’ve ever seen; photos here, found via {frolic!}

6. Johnny. Depp. Did you know he owns his own island in the Bahamas? Or that he flies the Jolly Roger on his steam-powered yacht? Oh, yes. Read this Vanity Fair article for more. And if any of you happen to own a boat and want to go to the Bahamas, please email me at once.
Happy weekend, friends!!! :)

Hi Laura
I was just doing some early morning trawling on the net.. and found your blog and your mention of my friend at Ragged Roses…
Love your refreshing blog..!
I think your idea of unplugging is a very sound and healthy one…. but one I find hard to practice myself…
There is always the lure of the bright lights… my laptop screen.
Have a good creative week.
