Today the thunder and lightning just won’t quit. The rain has been coming down in sheets and the sky is dim. If I were in California right now, it would be about time to round up a few friends and head over to the Forbidden Island (my favorite Tiki bar) for a Mai Tai! I swear, they keep that place extra-toasty inside so you can feel like you’re in the tropics :) And the drinks are made with fresh fruits and spices – no yucky mixes in sight.

That got me thinking about Hawaiiana, bathing beauties from the 1950′s, and vintage treasures…

It’s rainy here as well, and now I’d like to find a tiki hut to hit with good drinks and the gentle sounds of rain rustling the palm fronds outside. Guess that’s not going to happen in Michigan. ;-)
