Okay, so many of you know that my husband and I are in the process of buying our first home (hooray!)… so, naturally, it’s impossible for me to think of anything but decorating. Which brings me to this room, which was featured in Martha Stewart this month as part of a story on a summer beach house; let’s have a gander:
I am really taken by the laid-back, modern-boho vibe of this room – it’s clean and uncluttered, but still fun. I love the vibrant tablecloth, the alliums, and the vintage milk bottle carrier (I found a similar one from this shop). You could get a similar look with the chairs by gradually picking up mismatched flea market finds and painting them all glossy white. And while I have been pining after a mini-chandelier, this rattan pendant from IKEA is much more in line with my real-world budget – and the more I look at it, the more it is growing on me. What do you think? Rattan pendant lamp – yea or nay?

Okay, I know I just left you a comment on the previous post and I try not to comment a lot because I’m afraid once I start I won’t stop but…
I just had to tell you I love, love, love this idea of breaking down magazine spaces into products for people with real budgets. Can’t wait to see how your new house comes together.
Thank you so much, Karen!!
